BLENDER DONUT TUTORIAL

I’m constantly trying to find new skills to learn and ways to improve my creative expression.  I’ve recently dived into the world of 3D modeling.  I took a few classes in high school where I was taught how to use Autodesk 3ds Max, so I’m sort of familiar with the tools and approach of 3D modeling.

Since Autodesk 3ds Max is quite expensive, I decided to take a crash course in learning how to use Blender, which is a free open-source 3D software.  Luckily in this day and age, the resources online to learn things are abundant. There’s this infamous donut tutorial video series on youtube, where it teaches you how to navigate the software and how each tool can be used.  It’s geared towards beginners and it’s absolutely great.  Andrew Price, the man behind Blender Guru on YouTube, is an excellent teacher and gives you all the knowledge to be able to create anything you can imagine within Blender.

With that being said, I’ve completed the beginner course and have my very own 3D modeled donuts.  I even have a short animated scene with camera movement below.  With these skills, I hope to further my knowledge of the 3D world and learn new ways to incorporate it in my films.  For my next personal project in Blender, I would like to explore architecture in the 3D space, hopefully creating a 3D model of a Mid-Century Modern home. Wish me luck!
